March for Babies 2011
Brothers,
It
's that time of year again where we celebrate the partnership between Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the March of Dimes Foundation by raising funds for the March for Babies campaign. The partnership goes back over 30 years initiated by our National Program Project Alpha. Since that time the March of Dimes has sowed seeds approaching $1 million dollars to support Project Alpha and the fraternity's mentoring efforts.
The March of Dimes' mission is to ensure that every baby is born healthy and full term. Many of you know first hand the effects of having a child born premature. My daughter was born at 32 weeks weighing 2 lbs and 1 oz. Bro. Kevin Jones' son was born at week 26! Just recently, Brother Tarynce Robinson's wife delivered at week 25. Because of the research funded by the March of Dimes my daughter and Kevin's son survived and are leading healthy lives. We hope and pray that T-Rob and his family will see this through.
Brother's I need your support! This Saturday night at fraternity meeting, we will enjoy Blue Jeans for Babies. The dress code has been relaxed and brothers may wear their blue jeans in exchange for a contribution to the chapter's March for Babies fundraising efforts. We are asking brothers to donate at least $5. If you cannot make it to the meeting or would like to make a personal donation, you make access my fundraising web page: http://www.marchforbabies.org/BGautier
Contributions are tax deductible.
The March for Babies is May 1st, 8:30 am, at the University of Houston. We will have a tent and invite all brothers to come, walk, and fellowship for helping to save babies!
